How to Remove Windows System Defender | Removal Guide

October 21st, 2009

Windows System Defender is a new rogue antivirus software along the lines of Windows PC Defender (See the Windows PC Defender Removal guide) (I believe it’s the same family of malware.) It claims to be a powerful and effective antivirus and antispyware suite, but will overwhelm you with warnings and alerts and popups of security problems with your computer and more or less hold you hostage with the fear that your data is at risk unless you purchase their software. All of their scans are falsified and most likely the biggest thing wrong with your computer is having this rogue software installed. Read on for how to remove windows system defender.

How to Remove SoftVeteran | Soft Veteran Removal Guide

October 21st, 2009

SoftVeteran is the latest version of the long and seemingly never ending line of rogue antivirus programs known as the wini family. The most recent was SoftCop (see the SoftCop removal guide.) But, the line goes much further back…. Softsoldier (How to remove SoftSoldier), ( TrustFighter TrustFighter Removal Guide, TrustSoldier removal guide and the following others… SafeFighter (Safefighter Removal), TrustCop (TrustCop Removal Guide), SecureWarrior (SecureWarrior Removal), SecurityFighter (SecurityFighter Removal), SecuritySoldier (SecuritySoldier Removal) and it also has gone under yet other names. Like the other variations in this family they all install via less than acceptable means (scare websites or trojan activity.) They then create lots of files that it later claims are viral and a threat to your pc. If you purchase the software they claim to be able to fix all of the problems. Which…. isn’t really the case (it doesn’t matter that the main problems were brought with this beast.) Anyway… read on for how to remove SoftVeteran.

How to Remove PC Scout | PC Scout Removal Guide

October 15th, 2009

PC Scout is another rogue application with a similar look and feel to the Windows Security Center. (It’s also apparently a clone of the same family as ActiveSecurity (ActiveSecurity Removal) It likely installs through malware and the use of web popups. Once it’s installed on your system it tries to run at startup and run a scan of your hard drive for supposed viruses. It in fact (shockingly) always finds something to complain about and either exaggerates minor issues or claims you have viral infections when you really don’t. Of course, they can’t be bothered to remove the problems unless you purchase their software. The problem is that purchasing really doesn’t do much but line the pockets of the software writers. Read on for how to remove PC Scout.

October 13th, 2009

Windows Smart Security is a rogue spyware application that may fool people into installing and purchasing due to the use of the words Windows and Security in the title. It may fool people into thinking that it is related to Microsoft Windows and perhaps even a part of the operating system. Of course, paying for the software doesn’t solve all it’s problems, really it’s main purpose is to separate you from your money. In addition to fake warnings about nonexistent security problems this software will prevent some legitimate security software from running which might be able to remove Windows Smart Security from the system.
